The Surface Issue
Look Beyond the Immediate
The problem you think you have is often not the real issue.
It’s easy to fixate on the surface issue without digging deeper to the root cause.
We often make assumptions and jump to conclusions about the real problem based on visible symptoms, but these assumptions can blind us from seeing the bigger picture and finding a lasting solution.
For example, if you’re struggling with procrastination and missing deadlines at work, the obvious problem might be a lack of motivation or poor time management.
However, if you look underneath, you could be overworked, bored with your projects, or facing personal issues that sap your energy.
Treating the symptom of procrastination without addressing the root cause will likely stay stuck in the cycle.
Similarly, if your small business is losing customers, you may think you need better marketing or lower prices to be competitive.
However, the real underlying problem could be poor customer service, an outdated product line, or misaligned company values that are turning people off from your brand.
