To Greet the Sunrise
Sometimes in life, you have to weather a tempest to experience the beauty that awaits on the other side.
Just as a breathtaking sunrise follows a turbulent night, our greatest rewards often come after we’ve endured our darkest trials.
Picture a tiny sailboat tossed about on heaving ocean swells, battered by howling winds and stinging rain beneath an ink-black sky.
The sailor could drop anchor and wait out the gale, resigned and cowering in the face of adversity.
But instead, with grit and fortitude, they press on, navigating through the maelstrom with their eyes fixed on the horizon.
They know that if they can just withstand this test, they’ll be there to witness the glorious light that will soon paint the morning clouds in shades of persimmon and gold.
So too in our own journeys, we face fearsome challenges that seem to consume the daylight from our world.
An illness, a loss, a failure, a heartbreak. In those moments, it’s tempting to drop anchor, to hide below deck and pray the storm just passes us by.
But if we can find our inner strength and resolve, if we set our compass to hope and courage, we can brave the battering waves.
